The walls were built with stone bases with rows of mud brick or adobe facing on top. The mud bricks were made by pressing a mixture of earth and lime into a mould. The building materials were held together by a mortar made of lime and mud. Tiles were unknown and the roofs were made of beams with reeds or branches on top, which were then covered with thick layers of mud mixed with straw. The constructions were extremely solid and had one or more floors.
