Who we are and what we do

The Museum of the History of Catalonia makes it possible for visitors to discover the past in an interactive, entertaining and understandable way. Through a large number of reproduced objects, documents and reconstructions based on historical information, and with the aid of numerous manual, computer and audiovisual interactive features, the permanent exhibition reveals how the ways of life that have emerged in our land have changed since prehistoric times through to the present day.

The educational activities offered by the museum are aimed at every educational level and group in both formal and leisure education.

The programme includes activities for nursery education, primary education and compulsory secondary education and non-compulsory secondary education, the contents and methodologies of which are adapted to suit the curricular objectives at each stage of children's education.

Likewise, the activities for adult education and people with special educational needs are intended to meet the various requirements of both these groups. Some of the activities have been specifically designed for these groups, while others have been adapted.

The activities for leisure education enable children to learn about the history of Catalonia in a more entertaining and fun way.

The museum has organised a new series of activities for families at the weekends that guarantee fun for the old and young alike.

The activities in the programme have been designed by the Education Service and are led by specialist educationalists. In order to do any of the activities, you must book your visit by phone in advance and pay for the activity by the appropriate bank transfer.
