The Museum of the History of Catalonia makes it possible for visitors to discover the past in an interactive, entertaining and understandable way. Through a large number of reproduced objects, documents and reconstructions based on historical information, and with the aid of numerous manual, computer and audiovisual interactive features, the permanent exhibition reveals how the ways of life that have emerged in our land have changed since prehistoric times through to the present day.

El Museu d'Història de Catalunya ofereix activitats educatives als conjunts monumentals propietat de la Generalitat de Catalunya, gestionats pel Departament de Cultura i Mitjans de Comunicació. Aquestes activitats permeten conèixer aquests monuments i el seu context històric.
Els professors tenen a la seva disposició la col·lecció dels dossiers educatius per cadascun d'aquests monuments.

Els dossiers educatius van adreçats al col•lectiu docent i tenen com a objectiu donar informació i documentació del patrimoni monumental que gestiona el museu així com de determinats temes tractats a les exposicions temporals. Els dossiers recullen també les activitats educatives que s'ofereixen.

La voluntat del servei educatiu del Museu d’ Història de Catalunya és oferir cada any noves experiències pedagògiques dirigides a tots els nivells educatius.

Més enllà de l ’educació formal, les propostes educatives també van adreçades a l’educació en el lleure de les famílies que visiten els monuments el cap de setmana i durant les vacances, tot oferint una manera diferent de conèixer i viure la història de Catalunya.

Els itineraris d'Educació Primària, Secundària i Batxillerat disposen d'un material didàctic específic, amb activitats per efectuar al museu i activitats per fer a l'aula, pensat per donar suport als alumnes i al seu professorat. D'aquest material, se'n fa arribar un exemplar original al professor, un cop concertada l'activitat corresponent, per tal que se'n pugui fer un joc de fotocòpies destinat a cadascun dels alumnes o grups d'alumnes.

The itineraries devised for pupils in primary, secondary and non-compulsory secondary education each have supporting educational material with activities to be done in the museum and others for the classroom in order to aid teachers and pupils alike. One copy of this material is forwarded to the teacher once the activity has been booked so that photocopies can be made and given to each pupil or group of pupils. The workshops have accompanying notebooks that the museum will supply to schools once the activity has been booked so that photocopies can be made and given to each group of pupils. The itineraries with stories have supporting educational sheets that the museum will supply once the activity has been completed.
Remember to bring these photocopies with you, as well as a pencil and an eraser, so that you can work at the museum.
